Awoniyi moves to Germany

After a successful loan spell with Belgium Jupiler league side Excel Royal Mouscron, Nigeria's Dream Team VII forward Taiwo Awoniyi has joined German Bundesliga side Mainz05 on loan.
The lanky striker was loaned to Royal Mouscron last season by English Premier league side Liverpool after the club could not secure him a work permit.
He was able to distinguished himself in the team scoring 15 goals for the club in all competitions.
The German Side confirmed his loan acquisition on Tuesday afternoon and he will be with the team till the end of the season.
" We have agreed a deal to sign Taiwo Awoniyi on loan from LFC for this season, subject to international clearance and a medical", the club wrote.
Awoniyi was part of Nigeria's Dream Team VII that defeated Libya 4-0 in the return leg of U23 African Cup of Nations qualifier played in Asaba, Delta state.
Awoniyi will be third Nigeria players that will represent the club after defender Leon Balogun and striker Anthony Ujah.
