AYC: NWF Invites 24 Weightlifters

By Admin The Nigeria Weightlifting Federation (NWF) says it has invited 24 lifters for camping ahead of the 2018 Africa Youth Games (AYG) in Algeria. The Secretary-General of the federation, Umar Lambu, told newsmen on Friday in Abuja, that the lifters comprised of 12 males and 12 females. He said two coaches have also been invited to handle the training of the lifters in camp. Lambu said a total of 12 lifters would be selected at the end of the training to represent the country at the AYG. “We have invited 24 lifters to camp for training in preparation for the games. “We are going to select the best 12 that will make the Nigerian Team to the games at the end of the training. “With the caliber of coaches we have invited, I am sure they will be able to get the best out of the lifters and to ensure a good outing at the games,’’ he said. Nigeria would take part in 23 sports in the 2018 AYG slated to hold from July 19 to July 28 in Algeria
