Ayobami Opens Up On Kano Pillars, 3SC Transfer controversy

As the war of words continue between Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Shooting Stars and Nigeria Professional Football League Club, Kano Pillars, the player involved Junior Ayobami has opened up on what really transpired between himself and the Oluyole warriors, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The player few weeks back announced that he has switched to the Mai Su Gida boys but the Ibadan-based club swiftly debunked the move claiming the player is still part and parcel of the club.

During a radio chat with Damilola Amuda on Petal FM on Thursday, Ayobami confirmed that he has signed 3 year contract with the Kano-based team.

He said, “I came to Shooting on loan, that was in 2015/16 when we were in the premier league. We got relegated, and I was told to just play with them. I waited to play in the NNL and I played in the NNL for three seasons. We have a group chat platform where players and coaches do interact during the lockdown and the team manager, Demaji Lawal, asked the players that anyone who wishes to stay should just notify the club."

"Some of my colleagues expressed their
desire to stay. And I notified the club on the platform that I won’t be able to stay if there’s no real negotiation.”

“I got a call from Kano Pillars if I’m interested in coming to play in Kano. I was so excited because I believe it’s a good opportunity for me."

I have gotten this type of opportunity when we got relegated, but I decided to stay with Shooting Stars because they brought me to limelight as well. Now I just have to move on, and like I said earlier, I was on loan at 3SC.”

He added, “The General Manager, Mr Rasheed Balogun, said Shooting Stars isn’t a father christmas and Pillars should do the right thing. And Pillars sent an email to them, but 3SC were asking Pillars for million naira.

To be honest, since I’ve been at Shooting Stars, I haven’t earned up to six million naira during my four seasons with them, and Kano Pillars chairman said what 3SC is asking for is too much,” the player said.

“I wasn’t offered any new contract, because during the lockdown I have made up my mind that I won’t be playing with Shooting Stars again because, there are many things going on which I don’t want to say. I could see how they are running the club and I don’t want to interfere.

“I requested for contract paper, I mailed the NNL that I want my contract paper from 3SC since two weeks ago. But NNL claim they haven’t seen the email I sent.

“Because most of the players in 3SC do not have their contract papers, and that’s very sad because most of them don’t know where they belong. I just want to have the contract paper with me because it’s very clear that they can change it, and change the year as well,” he added.

If everything goes according to plan, Ayobami is expected to play key role for Pillars both in the CAF COnfederation cup and on the domestic scene.
