Azubuike Okechukwu Prays Not To Suffer Any Relapse Of Recent Injury

Istanbul Basaksehir of Turkey midfielder, Azubuike Okechukwu has come out with a fervent and deeply emotional prayer that he will not suffer a relapse of the injury that kept him out of action for a long spell in the first part of his season. BSNSports.com.ng reports that, after returning to action with his Turkish Super Lig club last weekend, the former under-23 national team, Olympic Eagles’ two-time captain and Rio 2016 Olympic Games bronze medalist admitted he has missed football very direly. Azubuike was exuding sheer excitement after he returned to action last weekend, featuring for 22 minutes in his side’s 3-3 draw against Denizlispor, marking a change of fortune for the dark-skinned lad, who has missed several UEFA Champions League fixtures and nine Turkish Lig matches. The former Bayelsa United of Yenagoa battling midfielder acknowledged that he is truly and extremely delighted to be back in action, after recovering from a nagging injury, but he is now hoping that he will get to play more matches this time, following his return with the fixture against Denizlispor, which was his first participation with his club this season. Azubuike told AOIFootball.com: “It felt terrible to be out and for that long and not have a chance to play the game you love. I feel good that I am back now and I can’t wait to play as many games for my club, while I also pray that this injury doesn’t return again.”
