Babangida Charges Kano Pillars To Beat Calabar Rovers In Aiteo Cup Semifinal Clash

Chairman Kano Pillars FC, Alhaji Tukur Babangida on Wednesday charged the players of Kano Pillars to remain focus and beat Calabar Rovers in today's Aiteo Cup semifinal clash, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Tukur Babangida who addressed the team after their training at the Aper Aku stadium after their training told the team to make sure they pick the 2019 Aiteo Cup final ticket.

He however, appreciates and thanks the Kano State government for their unalloyed support, he attributed the support for the achievement of the team.

"I want you to beat Calabar Rovers and pick the 2019 Aiteo Cup ticket. We have been in the semi final twice but unfortunately we lost on the two occasions. We were in the final last year and we have one hand on the trophy but we missed out again."

"This time, with Kano Pillars supporters everywhere praying for the success of the team, i believe we shall get it right."

"So, by the end of the semifinal match tomorrow (today). We want you to put smiles on the faces of the Kano Pillars supporters.

"The Kano state government sends its message and they promise to continue supporting you."

Kano Pillars have not won the Aiteo cup in their history. The Sai Masu Gida however, were defeated in the cup final last year after penalty shootout.

Kano Pillars scored three goals before Rangers equalised the three goals to go ahead to win the title during the shootout.

Kano Pillars will play the semifinal tie against Calabar Rovers at the Aper Aku stadium at 4:00 pm today.
