Balogun Eyes Germany Return

By Sampson Adedeji

Less than tNigeria's Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun is already dreaming of returning back to Germany in less than two years after he left Bundesliga.

BSN reports that the 31 year old centre back left Bundesliga side Mainz 05 in the summer of 2018 after the expiration of his contract and joined English premier league side Brighton Hove Albion.

Having failed to pin down a regular starting shirt for the Seagulls due to loss of form and injury, he then moved to championship side Wigan Athletic during the winter transfer window.

While speaking to Germany news outlet fussballtransfer, Balogun said he missed Germany and will one day return irrespective of his age.

“Germany is my home, I would always think about it, I’m still fit. Even if I turn 32 in the summer, I still have a few years in my legs.

"I would also like to continue the experience of England, but the bottom line is that it is nowhere like at home,” he said.

Apart from Mainz 05, Balogun has also played for Hertha Berlin, Darmstadt 09 and Hanover 96 all in Germany.
