Beating Gombe Bulls In Final, A Prove That We're True Champions - Ogoh Odaudu By Niyi Busari The head coach of 2021 Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) Super 8 Champions, Ogoh Odaudu, has said that beating Gombe Bulls to emerge champions will put to rest the argument about Rivers Hoopers being the true champions. Odaudu said he was happy over the victory because some people were doubting Rivers Hoopers quality because Gombe Bulls were not part of the League last season when they won the League to represent Nigeria at the Basketball African League (BAL). Odaudu in an exclusive interview with BSN Sports said, "It was determination. We wanted this victory badly. We have been working hard and practicing for close to give months. Then there is this believe that Rivers Hoopers became the champions of Nigeria Basketball League because Gombe Bulls and Kano Pillars were not part of the competition that we won last season. We expect that after today, we will not hear anything like that again." "We are the true champions of Nigeria. We don't know what will next year but right now, we are very happy being crowned champions. "Of course, we are going to beef up the team. BAL has their own requirements. We need two Americans on our roster and we also have opportunity to add two African players. So, we are going to bring in four solid players and possibly bring in more than that. We have seen what happened at BAL and we know that with a team like this we will need to add better quality players. "Gombe Bulls are our toughest opponents. The scoreline does not reflect how good Gombe Bulls are, they're are far more better than what we saw. I don't know exactly what happened today." Rivers Hoopers defeated Gombe Bulls 74-57 to win the NBBF League and will represent Nigeria at the Basketball African League in Rwanda in March, 2022.
