Basketball: Stop Misinforming FIBA - Peter Nelson Tells Detractors By Our Reporter The Director of Planning, Monitoring and Information, Mr Peter Nelson has stated that wrong information is being peddled around by detractors as regards the crisis rocking the Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF. Peter Nelson in an interview with journalists in Abuja at the venue of the ongoing Super 8 said, the secretariat of NBBF has been totally in charge of organising the Super 8 and everything relating to basketball in Nigeria since the tenure of the Kida-led board expired while ministry has been giving them the needed support whenever they are called upon. He said, "If there is no more to it, I don't think we should be dragging this issue, there are a lot lies in the air, that is being circulated, they misinformed FIBA about the Super 8, we have a capable secretariat that is being run by the secretary, Afolabi-Oluwayemi Olabisi and she is in charge of everything and if there is any need of support from the ministry, we are ready to provide but so far she has been doing a wonderful job . "So going out to tell FIBA something else would not benefit anybody but disrupt the flow of the game and the ministry would not take it lying low because I can't imagine people wanting the game to stop because things are not going their way. The ministry is wiser now and nobody can take us on a wild goose chase pending when the election will be held, the secretary takes charge of the activities of the federation and the World Cup qualifiers with support coming from the ministry especially in terms of finance." He concluded.
