Bayelsa State Deputy Decries Rohr's Neglect On Home- Based Players. By Hananeel Jackson Bayelsa State Deputy Senator Governor Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo has called on Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr to give more home players the opportunity to play for the Senior National team. Senator Ewhrudjakpo made the call at the Government House in Yenagoa, when he play host to the Minister of Youth and Sports Development Sunday Dare. He said with the abundant of talents in the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, that Nigeria cannot continue to rely on foreign based players, urging the gaffer to include the home base player as the Nations Cup and World Cup qualifiers approaches. The governor deputy noted that he expected Rohr to replicate what Clemens Westerhof did for the national team by going round the country to for search talents describing the Franco German approach to home base players as unfair. The State number one two man while reacting to the sports minister earlier comment on Rohr's nonchalant attitude towards home- based players said it was time to call the Super Eagles handler to order, pointing out that the Bayelsa State government was in support of minister's call. Senator Ewhrudjakpo said he was confounded why the coach would not give the domestic league players a chance, which has become every player dream to represent the his country. He added that the sole reliance on foreign-based players in international games was the reason for the slide in the growth of our leagues.
