Bayelsa State Government Releases Ten Million To Bayelsa Queens
By Hananeel
The Bayelsa state government have responded to the cries of the players of the state owned women football team Bayelsa Queens with the release of ten million naira.
The action of state government could not be unconnected with the protest of the girls to Bayelsa state Government House and the Treasury Building where they barricaded the gates thereby preventing the workers access to their offices.
The government however promised that the balance of the remaining twenty two million naira will be given to the team next week.
It would be recalled that the Bayelsa state government through Governor Henry Dickson made a pledge of twenty two million naira and a brand new coaster bus to the female team after they ended a twelve years drought of major football title by winning the Nigeria Women Football League in Lagos.
