Bayelsa United Emerge Champion of South-South Preseason Tournament

Bayelsa United on Saturday has emerged Champions of the three days South-South preseason football tournament in Yenagoa, BSNSports.com.ng reports
Bayelsa United beat neighbors Calabar Rovers to emerged winners of the preseason tournament.
Head Coach of Bayelsa United Mekeme Fekete made several changes from the team that spanked Dynamite Force three zero on Friday leaving midfielder Diego Jonathan,Philip Bob, Emo James and Bernard Okorowanta as they continue to impress in their respective position while Endurance Niseaziba made his preseason debut for Bayelsa United.
The Restoration Boys were held to a goalless draw in the final match of the tournament by Calabar Rovers at the Samson Siasia Stadium after both teams wasted several scoring opportunities.
Earlier in the day, Warri Wolves who played a 1-1 draw with Dynamite Force FC finish as runners-up in the tournament while Dynamite Force FC claimed the third spot as Rovers could only manage one point from four games.
After the encounter, delightful coach of Bayelsa United Mekeme Fekete said pre-season tournament has made him realize that there are some key areas which he needs to strengthen before the season commences.
Rovers Coach Bob Osim said he's not concerned about the results but will be more concerned and focused on how to gain promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League at the end of the season.
On his part, Club Chairman Bayelsa United Mr Tony Ogola said the preseason tournament has exposed the players adding that competition has added value to his side prepare for the new Nigeria National League season that's slated to kick off this month.
