Football lovers, especially fans of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), will start watching live matches of the football club as the state owned media outfit, Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) is poised to commence live broadcast of 3SC games with effect from next season.

This was revealed after a meeting held on Monday, 10th of August 2020 between the BCOS Management and Oyo State Commissioner for Youths and Sports Asiwaju Fakorede.

The parley, held at the Ile Akede Orita Bashorun Ibadan premises of the BCOS, allowed both parties to fashion out modalties for the live coverage of 3SC games.

In an exclusive chat with BCOS Sports shortly after the meeting, Asiwaju Fakorede, who was accompanied to the meeting by top officials of his ministry, explained that embarking on live broadcast of 3SC matches is parts of his ministry's efforts at restoring the past glories of the club.

"3SC is, no doubt, a big brand and popular clubside which had brought glories to Oyo state and Nigeria in the past. The present administration under Engineer Seyi Makinde is not happy with 3SC's present condition and has resolved to return the club to its former place of pride in football circle. The meeting we held with BCOS today is parts of our efforts to achieve this mission", he disclosed to BCOS reporter Adewale Tijani.

The Sports Commissioner thereafter hinted: "We are partnering with BCOS to ensure that henceforth 3SC games are shown live on TV to viewers in many countries of the world. We are trying to bring back the large followership which the club used to command in 1970s and 80s".

Also speaking exclusively to BCOS Sports after the parley, the Executive Chairman of the BCOS, Prince Dotun Oyelade said the decision to transmit live matches of 3SC is one of the giant strides the state owned media outfit is taking to increase its viewership and to reposition the station to be among the best in the country.

"We in BCOS are striving to be among the best by attracting more viewers. In achieving our objectives, we are planning to commence live broadcast of games of 3SC, a football club with a rich history and landmark achievements", Prince Oyelade stated.

According to the BCOS Executive Chairman, the live broadcast of 3SC games, when it takes off, will be beamed to T.V viewers in over fifty countries of the world.

BCOS Sports gathered that if plans went well as proposed, the live transmission of 3SC matches could start from next football season.
