Benedict Akwuegbu Names Eagles All Time Best XI

Former Super Eagles forward, Benedict Akwuegbu who had an illustrious club career abroad selected Ex and active players in his list of players and those on the substitute bench.

In a chat with BSN Sports, Akwuegbu who was part of the Silver winning Super Eagles team to the 2000 Africa Cup Of Nations co hosted by Nigeria and Ghana drew a solid line up which he says is capable of getting a good job done

In goal, the 45 year old former Tianjin Teda, Wacker Innsbruck and FC Karnten attacker selected Emanuel Okala and listed Former Inter Milan and AC Milan Rugged man Taribo West, former captain and coach of the National team Christian Chukwu and Uche Okechukwu in the defense.

Sunday Oliseh, Mudashiru Lawal, and Austin Jay Jay Okocha made Akwuegbu's list in the midfield while Segun Odegbami, Finidi George, Etim Esin and Rashidi Yekini completes the list in the attack.

On the substitute bench, Peter Rufai is the lone goalkeeper, while Henry Nwosu, Victor Osimhen, Felix Owolabi were also selected.

Others are Daniel Amokachi and Celestine Babayaro.

Akwuegbu who featured for the Super Eagles at the 2002 World Cup in Korea/Japan scored eight times in 30 appearances.
