Besiktas President, 8 Players Test Positive For Covid-19

Turkish club Besiktas confirmed their club President and eight people between the squad and staff have tested positive for COVID-19.
It is understood that club President Ahmet Nur Cebi and striker Burak Yilmaz are among eight other individuals to have tested positive to the virus.
The Turkish Super Lig was scheduled to restart in June as Besiktas conducted tests among employees of the club which showed eight testing positive.
Besiktas released a statement regarding the development: "According to the results of the tests of the Covid-19 test, positives were detected in eight people. The process of monitoring and treatment of these people who have positive test results have started immediately according to the relevant procedures".
Another top club Kasimapa also confirmed that revealed two players at the club had tested positive and would be quarantined.
Second division side BB Erzurumspor said their latest round of testing saw 11 positive results, four of them were players.
Turkish FA President Nihat Ozdemir, confirmed last week that the league will resume play on June 12, after activities were suspended since March 18, as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Teams have resumed training in Turkey as Trabzonspor lead the race in the league with eight matches left to play.
Istanbul BB are second, level on point with the leaders while Galatasary are three points behind the top two sides as Sivasspor settle for fourth position.
