Biennial World Cup; NFF, Others To Get €16.8 Million If.... Sampson Adedeji World soccer governing body (FIFA) continues to persuade member nations to back the idea of a biennial World cup instead of its original four years interval, BSNsports.com.ng can report. FIFA recently set up a committee headed by former Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, to canvass nations to back the new idea of World Cup every two years. The football body on Monday announced that each member nation will get an additional €16.8 million if the new idea materialised. According to a report, if the World Cup is held every two years, instead of every four years, a study shows that FIFA estimates the additional income of the tournament at 3.9 billion euros over four years. Ticketing, TV rights and sponsorship would bring revenue from 6.2 billion euros a projection linked to the passage of the Men's World Cup from 32 to 48 teams from 2026 to 10 billion. FIFA currently has 211 member nations including the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF)
