Bonfere Jo Applies For Super Eagles Job Sampson Adedeji Former coach of Nigeria's Super Eagles Bonfere Jo has joined the growing list of coaches around the world jostling for the position of Super Eagles, BSNsports.com.ng can report. Few days ago report filtered in that the Nigeria Football Federation has parted ways with its Gernot Rohr, though the football body is yet to confirm or deny the report. The Dutch tactician is not alien to Nigeria football, he was the assistant of Clemence Westernoff to the 1994 African Cup of Nation and World Cup. He led Nigeria's Dream Team to the Gold medal at the 1996 Olympics games in Atlanta, United State. Bonfere led Nigeria to the final of 2000 AFCON co-hosted by Nigeria and Ghana, losing to the Indomitable Lion of Cameroon via penalty shoot out. He was relieved of his duties after the dwindling performance of the team in the qualifier to the 2002 Japan/Korea World Cup. According to the report, the Dutch coach has formally submitted his application to take over the team. Super Eagles are expected to open camp in December in order to commence preparation for the 2021 African Cup of Nations slated for Cameroon in 2022.
