Eaglets suffers defeat in Brazil

The Nigeria's Golden Eaglets preparations for the fast approaching FIFA U17 World Cup continue in far away Sao Paulo in Brazil with 25 players, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

BSN reports that the team consists of 25 players and their technical crew headed by coach Garba Manu jetted out of the country last Wednesday to Brazil in order to intensify their preparation for the competition.

In one of the friendly matches lined up for the team, Eaglets on Monday evening lost their first friendly match 1-2 to Sao Paulo Football Club U18 in fiercely battle.

David Silva put Sao Paulo ahead in the 18th minute before Olusegun Olakunle leveled for Nigeria from the penalty spot in the 70th minute.

Enrique Santos netted the winning goal in the 85th minute and condemned Eaglets to a defeat.

The Nigeria created so many chances but were unable to convert any of those chances. Eaglets have one goal ruled offside by the center referee.

The team will continue training in camp ahead of the next friendly match against Korea next Wednesday before the coach announce his final list of 21 players.

Nigeria is placed in group B alongside Australia, Ecuador and Hungary.
