By Sampson Adedeji
If the reports reaching www.bsnsports.com.ng from Court of Arbitration for Sports is anything to go by then, AFCON defending champion Indomitable Lions of Cameroon might be thrown out of the upcoming 2019 AFCON slated for Egypt in the summer.
Football Federation of Comoros has lodged a complains to CAS urging Cameroon to be thrown out of this edition of AFCON after they were stripped off the hosting right by CAF.
Caf rules (Article 92.3) state that if a nation withdraws from hosting or has the rights taken away one year before the finals, 'a fine of $500,000 and a suspension of the next edition of Afcon of it's A national team, without considering the concerned edition.'
CAS on Thursday instructed Africa soccer governing body to furnish it the details of the defence of the case brought by Comoros.
And CAF just 20 days to respond, if it found out to be true, then Cameroon might eventually be axes from the competition.
Cameroon defeated Comoros 3-0 in the last group match of the AFCON qualifier to join group leader morocco in qualifying for the tournament.
