A source close to the club who pleaded anonymity disclosed to Basic Sports in Nigeria that coach Busari resigned due to lack of welfare package for the coaching crew as well as the players. The reliable source added that poor welfare package was responsible for the poor run of form witnessed recently by the club. The reliable source also noted that Gateway United is also suffering from political problem where many politicians want the team to fail so as to use it against the sitting government. In a conversation with Gateway United media officer, Mr Mayorkun said the management did not give coach any match ultimatum and that everyone was shocked to see him dropping his resignation letter on Thursday morning. He however, traced that Akeem Busari resignation to poor run of form by the club in recent matches.
