Breaking! Kada City Withdraw From Nigeria National League

The 2018/19 Nigeria National League (NNL) champions, Kada City Football Club of Kaduna have pulled out of the 2019/2020 Nigeria National League, BSNSports.com.ng can authoritatively report.

Mr. Ekene Abubakar Chairman, CEO, Kada Football Club, has told BSN Sports that the Kaduna based football club are withdrawing due to financial crisis, failure to pay him the Seventeen million naira - the balance for the sale of NPFL slot sold to Delta state government - and also said that the management of the league has decided the teams that will gain promotion to the NPFL as well as the NNL champions.

"There is no two ways about it, i just need to pull out. My pulling out is based on financial constraints facing my team as a private club." Adams told BSN Sports

"So, i am pulling out of the league before i will have to go and start begging for money to play in a league that the next winner and the teams that will promote have been penciled down.

"If you must know, they have taken decision of who is going to be the winner of this league. So, why should i sell my properties, borrow money and be a fool to put the money in a hole?, he asked.

"Secondly, i am pulling out of the because i got to the NPFL on merit and i was persuaded by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to sell my slot to Delta State government and now Delta state government has sold it to another buyer while my money has not been paid.

"I am still owed the sum of Seventeen million naira (N17m) and they expect me to continue selling my properties to play the next game.

"There is no financial fair play in the league and the private investors in the league are the one suffering for it. When a government owned club receive Six million to execute a Nigeria National League match, whereas, i have to sell my properties to play in the same league." He lamented

He believed that when his team is no longer participating in the league, he will come all out using all strategies to recover his seventeen million from wherever it is hiding.

"I am sure my pulling will help me in recovering my N17 million from wherever it hangs.

He revealed that another club will pull out of the NNL before this season ends.

"Kada City is out of this league and i assure you that another team will pull out before this ends because the atmosphere, environment is toxic and not save for everyone to invest in football business. Nigerians need to ask why private owned club are being chased away. The likes of Iwuanyanwu, Giwa have all been chased and discouraged from participating in the league. The only privately owned club now in the NPFL is FC Ifeanyi Ubah and i pity him because of what he is going through.

He accused the league body of taking decision on the four teams that will gain promotion as well as the season champions

"And i am not speculating, i saw it and it is going to happen that way. Some clubs that i will not like to mention have been penciled down and have an edge to gain NPFL promotion ticket. I dont want to raise dusts by calling out their names because that will seem like fighting the clubs and i repeat, the 2019/20 NNL winners has been decided.

He continued by describing the league management as incompetent and people without vision.

"And we are in league where the incompetent management lacks vision and dreams, they could not maintain a sponsor and when they lost it, they not competent enough to get a new sponsor. The management and the board are not creative and have nothing to offer. And it is like blind man leading men with two eyes who have vision and dreams." He concluded.

Ekene Adams, however, added that Kada City will honour this weekend match-day 6 tie against Nigerian Air Force Football Club at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna but insisted that the home match will be his club's last game this season.
