Minister of Sports approve fund to refund IAAF overpayment

Just as he promised, Minister of Youth and Sports Sunday Dare continue to work hard in order to give Nigeria Sports a facelifts both on and off the field.

The Minister on Wednesday approved the fund to repay IAAF, who has been on the neck of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria ( AFN) following the excess fund been transferred to Nigeria mistakenly.

The IAAF transferred $150,000 Instead $15,000 as grant and tracing and refunding the cash has suddenly became a difficult issues and gas also generated controversy in the country.

The Minister confirmed his approval via his social media handle on Wednesday evening and promised that the money will get to international body soon barring bank delay.

"I have approved the release of funds to refund the IAAF overpayment wrongly credited to the Athletics Federation of Nigeria. In a few days from now the funds should hit the account of the IAAF baring any interbank delays. With this Nigeria’s reputation is regained," he wrote.

Refunding the cash will surely give Nigeria a new look and the reputations of the country will be restored.
