The 2019 Nigeria National League Promotion playoff date will be shifted from Wednesday July 24th to a yet to be confirmed day, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

An official of the Nigeria second tier league who spoke with www.bsnsports.com.ng but wants his name not mentioned confirmed that the new date for the promotion playoff will be readjusted because it is the same date (July 24th) for the 2019 Aiteo Cup final.

Nigeria National League management had on Tuesday (today) released a statement which stated the playoff date to be 24th July and the format of the playoff.

The source added that the new date will be announced to general public tomorrow (Wednesday) after the management concludes on new date.

As against what we had last season where the eight teams that picked the playoff tickets played in a round-robin format at the Enyimba International stadium. The top four teams then automatically picked four promotion tickets for the NPFL.

This season's format will be one-match playoff which will see the group A1 winner trade tackles with group A2 table topper.

B1 group winners face B2 champions. With this format, C1 winners Vs C2 winners while D1 will face D2. With this format, the Northern Conference and Southern Conference will produce two teams each that will gain promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League.
