Bukayo Saka To Wear Jersey No 7 At Arsenal Next Season
By Admin
After penning a new deal that will keep him at Arsenal for a longer period, utility man Bukayo Saka has been handed the iconic number 7 jersey by his club ahead of the new campaign.
The number has been vacant this season following the departure of Henrikh Mkhitaryan to AS Roma last summer and the latest development has now thrown the future of the Armenian captain in doubt.
The number has previously been worn by such Arsenal greats as Alexis Sánchez, Tomas Rosicky, Robert Pirès, Ray Parlour, Paul Merson and Liam Brady.
Saka has been one of the most consistent performers for Arsenal this season where he has made 42 first-team appearances for the Gunners wearing the number 77.
The 18-year-old’s number has changed to 7 on the club’s official website ahead of next season with an official communication set to be announced in the coming days.
Saka has so far scored four goals and assisted 11 others in an Arsenal shirt with the new deal he signed with the club in the past days set to keep him at The Emirates until 2024.
