The under 23 male national handball team on Monday evening,suffered a 27-19 defeat to Bulgaria at the IHF Emerging Nations Tournament holding in Georgia.

Nigeria had lost their first game in Group B to host Georgia by 24-14 before playing our a thrilling 31-31 draw with Ireland and had hoped to get a win over Bulgaria in a must win game for the them.

But the boys succumbed to a superior tactically efficient Bulgaria who put sword to Nigeria's hope of winning especially in the second half.

Despite the disappointing defeat, Obinna was voted the most valuable player in Nigeria team.
