Bundesliga: Awoniyi Disappointed As Mainz 05 Suffer Home Defeat

Nigeria international Taiwo Awoniyi has voiced out his disappointment following his team Mainz 05, 0-1 defeat to TSG Hoffeinham on Saturday.

Awoniyi who had a goal disallowed, was in action for the whole durations of the game as Hoffeinham inflicted defeat on the home side.

Awoniyi believed they should have reacted better in the first stanza of the game, when they has all the chances to decide the game.

"This is a huge disappointment for all of us. We should have decided the outcome of the game in the first half but we didn't take our chances," he said.

The defeat dropped Mainz 05 to one point above the relegation zone with few games to the end of the season.
