Bundesliga: First Mainz 05 Post Civil-19 Goal Excites Awoniyi

Super Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi emerged the first Nigerian to score post covid-19 goal in his club 2-2 away draw with FC Koln, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Mark Uth's put the hosts ahead when he converted a penalty in the 6th minute before Floria Kenz double the effort eight minutes into the second half.
Awoniyi who came off the bench in the 56th minute reduced the hosts 2-0 lead when he slotted home a direct squarely pass from Bote Baku in the five minutes after he was subbed on to make the scoreline 2-1
Pierre Kunde made sure the visitors did not leave empty handed when his 71st minute fantastic individual effort resulted in the second to amazement of the fans.
During a post match interview Awoniyi was excited to scored for the club after a long wait.
"I'm really happy about scoring my first goal for Mainz! We came back very well as a team today and fought our way back into the match!"
Mainz 05 are 16th on the log with 27 points from 26 games. Another Nigeria international Karim Onisiwo, striker who saw a full time action for Mainz 05 was unable to see the back of the net while Kingsley Ehizube came on for the hosts in the 83rd minute.
Awoniyi is expected to return to his parent club Liverpool at the end of the season.
