Bundesliga: Union’s Awoniyi caged in Bielefeld; Akpoguma subbed on as Hoffenheim secure win against Wolfsburg

Bundesliga:
Super Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi was on the losing side as Arminia Bielefeld defeated Union Berlin 1-0 in Saturday’s Bundesliga game, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The Nigerian international, who was making his 19th appearance for Union Berlin, failed to put his name on the score sheet. Awoniyi lasted for 75 minutes on the pitch, but he was unable to add to his nine Bundesliga goals this term. The 24-year-old has not hit the back of the net for the Irons since scoring in a 2-1 defeat of Leipzig on December 3rd. It would be recalled, though, that the former Liverpool signing scored for the Super Eagles in the 3-1 win over Sudan’s Falcons in January during the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon. In the other game, Super Eagles defender, Kevin Akpoguma played to expectation in Hoffenheim 2-1 win over Wolfsburg on Saturday. The Nigerian international came on as a substitute for Georginio Rutter in the 86th minute.
