CAF: African Super League Gets Date

With consultations still ongoing African soccer governing body under Patrice Motsepe has announced the fate of the proposed Super League, BSNsports.com.ng can report.
The Super League was first proposed in Europe by top clubs but failed to see the light of the day after the European football governing body nullified the move.
Motsepe mooted the idea in Africa and discussions is presently ongoing among top clubs and member association.
CAF announced September 2023 as the kick-off date while also listing out the criteria for clubs that will participate in the league.
The criteria include:
• 1st class pitch
• Women’s team
• Academy
• Sponsors
• Proper club structure
According to the report coming from CAF headquarter in Cairo, Executives of the body has slated a meeting with the president of the football association and top club for Saturday in Yaounde, Cameroon.
