CAF Announces CHAN 2023 Host, Date Sampson Adedeji African soccer governing body has announced the host and date for the 2023 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) BSNsports.com.ng can report. The competition is designed for the players that are based at home and foreign players irrespective of where they play are not allowed to partake in the tournament. CAF on Thursday announced North Africa country, Algeria as the next host of the competition and they further picked January 8th to 31st, 2023 as the date for it. The maiden edition of the tournament was held in 2009 in Ivory Coast and DR Congo emerged champion. The last edition was held in Cameroon in 2020 and Morocco emerged winner which makes them alongside DR Congo as the most successful teams in the competition with 2 titles each.
