CAF Announces Kick Off Date For AFCON 2023 Sampson Adedeji Confederation of African Football( CAF) has announced the date for the kick-off of the 2023 African Cup of Nations to be hosted by Ivory Coast, BSNsports.com.ng can report. The country is supposed to have staged the ongoing 2021 edition of the competition but was moved to 2023 due to the re-arrangement from the football body. African soccer governing body last week announced January 23rd, 2021 as the date for the qualifying draw for the tournament. CAF on Thursday finally announced June 23rd to July 23rd, 2023 as the date for the competition proper. The 2019 edition in Egypt was staged during the summer but the 33rd edition currently going in Cameroon was moved back to January, February.
