CAF Announces Prize Money For AFCON

With five days to the 33rd edition of the African Cup of Nations, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has fixed prize money for every stage of the competition, BSNsports.com.ng can report.
For the second consecutive time 24 countries will participate in the biennial tournaments, after a successful run in Egypt in 2019.
African soccer governing body fixed €4.5 million for the winner of the competition in Cameroon while the first runner up will earn €2.64 million.
Third place playoff winner will get €2.2 million same as semi-finalists.
Quarterfinalists will get €703,361 for their efforts in the tournament.
Fennec of Algeria emerged winner of the last edition with Teranga Lions as the first runner up while Nigeria's Super Eagles finished as the second runners up.
