CAF Award: Ighalo, Oshoala top the list for men and women, as Osimhen, Chukwueze drop to youth category

The Confederation of Africa Football [CAF] has trimmed down the list of players and coaches for the 2019 Awards.

The Africa Soccer governing body last month lists of selected players and coaches who performed excellently well for their respective countries in the outgoing year , BSN reports

Two out of four Nigerian players nominated for player of the year award made the final shortlist, Shanghai Shenhua striker Odion Ighalo and Asisat Oshoala made the final top 10 in the Men and Women categories.

In the women category FC Barcelona Femeni striker Asisat Oshoala made the final cut as the list has been reduced to top 5 players.

The duo of Samuel Chukwueze and Victor Osimhen has been dropped to the category of youth player of the year award.

The name of Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr and former Super Falcons coach Thomas Dennerby was missing from the coach of the year.
Nigeria's Super Falcons will compete with Cameroon, South Africa, Zambia and Cote d'Ivoire foe the women team of the year.
