CAF CC: Enyimba Can Still Qualify If...... Samson Siasia
By Niyi Busari
Former Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia has said that Enyimba can still qualify for the final game at the expense of Raja Casablanca if the team can change from their pattern of play at home in Nigeria.
He argued that if they can avoid playing long balls but holding the ball and possess their opponent in the second leg, Enyimba can turn the table against Raja Casablanca in Morocco.
He added that People's Elephant players should not rush themselves while having the ball possession on their side, stating further that Raja Casablanca capitalized on Enyimba weaknesses because the hosts played long balls while the visitors played together as a team in the first leg of the semifinal in Nigeria.
"Raja Casablanca came with a game plan with possession of the balls which work for them, when they were moving forward, they do in unit which makes it difficult for Enyimba players to defend.
"They have known Enyimba style of play, the home team play long balls to the three attackers which makes it easy for Raja Casablanca to keep them offside.
Two times African Champions, Enyimba international FC lost 0-1 at home to Raja Casblanca in the first leg of the semifinal of CAF Confederation cup.
The crucial game which was decided at the Enyimba international stadium on Wednesday put the home team in tight corner. Enyimba will need to score more than one goal and make sure they do not concede in Morocco to stand a chance of playing in the final of 2017/18 CAF Confederation cup.
However, Siasia believed Enyimba can still qualify if they can possessive football in the second leg in Morocco.
"If they come here and win, Enyimba can as well do same in their home but must be calm, possess the game, play as a team then look for free kicks close to 18 yard box, hopefully they can convert one or two of those chances and back with victory."
"They need to go to Morocco with a good game plan and enthusiasm." He concluded.
