Sampson Adedeji
Manager of Senegalese side Diambars FC, Bruno Rohart, has said final defeat to his team has prepared them for the Confederation Cup clash against Nigeria's Enyimba International, BSNsports.com.ng can report.
Diambars, last weekend suffered a 1-0 defeat to Cassa Sports in the country's Cup final to surprise of football fans across the country.
While reacting to the game, Rohart hailed his players but believed a match like that is good for them as they get ready to play a 2-time African champion.
“It was a difficult match against a good, very rigorous and very committed Casa Sport team. The kids were there throughout the game, we took a goal during our highlight.
A goal that destabilized us, the kids pushed but unfortunately it did not work. Despite the loss, I am extremely proud of my young players.
"We have just chained 4 straight knockout matches for a team whose average age is 18 to 20, it is not easy to digest because there is permanent, psychological pressure and it is difficult for young people of 18, 19, 20 years old. We have won these last three elimination games and now we have lost the game that should not be lost after all we are an academy we will quickly recover.
"A match like this, an atmosphere like this can only be beneficial for them, they will also grow on the next two confrontations against Eyimba. We will get up and move on," he said.
Diambar will face the People's Elephant in the first round of the Confederation Cup for a place in the group stage of the tournament.
