By Our Reporter
Confederation of African Football (CAF) celebrated Odion Ighalo’s achievement at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Ighalo finished top scorer with five goals which saw the Eagles take home the bronze medal.
It was Ighalo’s second major tournament with the Eagles after featuring at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
And reflecting on Ighalo’s performance, CAF published clips of all his five goals at the 2019 edition on their verified Twitter handle with the inscription:”7 Matches, 5 Goals. SuperEagles star @ighalojude ruled the 2019 #TotalEnergiesAFCON! 🇳🇬”
Ighalo could make a return to the Eagles as Gernot Rohr and NFF president Amaju Pinnick have hinted of a possible comeback. If he makes a return, he will be part of the Super Eagles players who will play in the 2022 Qatar World Cup African qualifiers in November.
He will also be in Cameroon to help Nigeria realize the dream of winning the African Nations Cup title for the fourth time.
