CAF Champions League: "We Must Take Our Chances Against Al-Mereikh" - Osho
By Sampson Adedeji
Nigeria representative in the CAF Champions League, Enyimba international of Aba head coach, Fatai Osho, has insisted that they must convert their chances in order to have a chance of upstaging Sudanese giant, Al Mereikh, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The People's Elephant secured its passage to the first round after they overcome Rahimo FC of Burkina Faso, while Al Mereikh defeated Congolese side AS Otoho.
Both side will clash for a place in the group stage of the competition later this month and Osho believed they emerge victorious.
"You can see we were just too wasteful. We should have wrapped up the whole game in the first half.
“When you keep throwing away chances like that, you are empowering your opponents to come into the game and that’s something we discussed prior to this match.
“You’ve got to be deadly. In Burkina Faso also we created a lot of chances but couldn’t covert them. But I think we can still get better in front of goal. That was our greatest undoing (against Rahimo). We were just too wasteful.”
"We need to improve on converting our chances. If you look at the game (against Rahimo), we had a lot of chances to score more goals but we did not take those chances.
“We are playing against a very big team, Al Merrikh, and for us to scale through against such a team we have to convert our chances," he told club media.
