CAF Champions League: Plateau United Will Make Nigerians Proud - Dele Ajiboye

Plateau United goalkeeper, Dele Ajiboye has said that the Nigeria representative in the CAF Champions League will do well in the continent when the season starts, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

The former Golden Eaglets star added that the 2019/20 NPFL table topper will bank on the sports-loving governor of the state who according to him will not delay the salary, bonus and allowances to go far at the continent.

"We have one philosophy at Plateau United, if we want to play matches we need to know the team we are playing against and plan how to win every game. This help us finished top of the table in the just concluded season, Ajiboye told BSN Sports.

He insisted and confident that the former NPFL Champions would have finished as the table topper had Coronavirus didn't stop the league at Week 25.

"Personally, I'm not so happy that covid-19 stopped the league because it will be my second time of winning the league perfectly but God knows why.

He is confident that the club will not delay the payment of bonus and allowances of players and officials of the club.

"Plateau United were ready before the league started in terms of salaries and bonuses in short the club is one of the best in the country right now. Once we win a match our bonus is ready for us without no excuse. I'm sure plateau United don't have problem about money, i cant say if another governor comes in into the post, but right now our governor like football and entire Plateau people, is like joy to them, so I don't think money will give Plateau United problem.

"People don't believe in Nigeria clubs anymore like before but for me i believe Plateau United will move forward in the continent, if you check the way we are playing now you will see that it's very different unlike before, so the coach has his own pattern and the management is ready to give everything that we need, we too want to sell ourselves, some want to play for national team and if we don't do well, nobody we see you and I'm sure plateau United has charisma to do well." He concluded.

Plateau United ended the league season with 1.90 coefficient after the League Management Company, LMC, used the Point Per Game to wrap up the season and determined the positions of the 20 NPFL clubs.
