  CAF Champions League: We Achieved Our Target - Al Mereikh Coach By Sampson Adedeji After edging out Nigeria representative in the CAF champions league, Enyimba international, head coach of Sudanese side, Al Mereikh, Didier Gomes Da Rosa, has stated that they achieved their set target, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The Sudanese champions lost to the People's Elephants 2-1 in Aba, despite scoring early in the game through Saif Terry. But they were able to progress to the group stage of the competition on 4-2 aggregate scoreline having won the first leg 3-0 in Sudan. Gomes while speaking after the game said they planned to score early to unsettle the hosts and they achieved it. "We knew that if we score early it will be very easy, fortunately we scored. We suffered so much from the left side because Enyimba number 14 is a very good player he posed some problem but we control the game. "Today the main target for us is to score a goal and we achieved it. These two matches we showed that we are better . "We planned to score very early because we knew if we do, Enyimba cannot score 5 goals and we are very happy. "We were better than this in the first leg but the main target today was to control the game, my  players are good and I'm proud of them," he said. The victory ensured that Al Mereikh qualified for the group stage of the competition while Enyimba dropped to the Confederation Cup play off.
