CAF CL: All Games To Observe One Minute Silence For Plane Crash Victims By Niyi Busari Confederation of African Football (CAF) has ordered that a minute silence be observed in all venues of the match-day 6 of 2018/19 CAF Champions League, BSNSports.com.ng understands. On Monday, 11th March 2019 all 157 people on board Ethiopian Airlines were killed in Boeing 737 that was involved in a plane crash en route to Nairobi. CAF has as a mark of respect for the departed souls asked all teams that will be playing their CAF Champions League matches this weekend to observe one-minute silence. CAF on its official Twitter handle wrote: "@CAF_Online will organize a moment of silence before kick-off in all matches of Day 6 of #TotalCAFCL in memory of the victims of the Ethiopian Airlines plane crash including Mr. Hussein Swaleh M’tetu." Hussein Swaleh M’tetu, a Kenyan who was involved in the crash was CAF match commissioner before his death.
