In order to secure a much needed win over Bloemfontein Celtics of South Africa, Rivers United has been motivated with a promise of cash reward by the State business tycoon, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Nigeria side will face Celtics in the rescheduled second leg of the CAF Confederation cup which has been slated for Cotonou, Benin Republic.
State businessman and politician Felix Obuah has promised to give the team N1 Million if they beat Celtics again in Cotonou.
The politician had earlier gave the club N2 million for the first win as he promised them.
General Manager of Rivers United Chief Dr Okey Kpalukwu in his response thanked Bro Felix Obuah for his magnanimity and huge support to the team and promised the team will not disappoint come Saturday.
"We appreciate you Sir for this motivational support to the team. We will do our best to score goals and win for you, our Sponsors, the Supporters and the Nation at large. We will not disappoint you by God's grace".
Rivers United will play Bloemfontein Celtic in the CAF Confederation Cup first round second leg on Saturday at the Charles De Gaulles Stadium in Port Novo, Benin Republic. Kick-off time is 4pm.
