CAF Disciplinary Committee Confirms Gabon's AFCON Participation After Dismissing Guelor Kanga's Case By Uche Dozie Democratic Republic of Congo have lost their protest against Gabon international player Guelor Kanga before the CAF legal committee after it ruled the allegations are false, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The legal committee pronounced that the allegations levelled against Kanga was false since Congolese Football Federation failed to provide concrete evidence and hence made their complaints very weak. CAF had opened an investigation into Gabonese and Red Star Belgrade midfielder Guelor Kanga who claimed he was born in 1990 however records showed he lost his mother in 1986. The petitioners, FECOFA believe Kanga was in fact Kiaku Kiaku Kiangana who was born on Oct. 5, 1985 in DRC. The player faced a possible lifetime ban by CAF if he had been found guilty of identity fraud. The new development hence confirms Gabon will be at the 2021 African Cup of Nations holding in Cameroon.
