  CAF Election: Ahmad Eyes Second Term In Office By Sampson Adedeji After much deliberation and consultation, incumbent president of the Confederation of African Football Association ( CAF), Ahmad Ahmad has finally decided to run for second term, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The former Madagascar Football Association president took over from Issa Hayatou in 2017 and his tenure has been characterised with  lots of controversies. The controversies was huge to the level that Secretary General of World soccer governing body, Fatma Samoura, has to temporarily take over as the head of CAF. Despite the crisis Ahmad on Wednesday announced through his social media handle his intention to seek re-election for the office of the president. https://twitter.com/AAhmad_CAF/status/1321473437983014917?s=19 "The CAF knew a lot of improvements for 4 years. I'm proud of my team's achievements. I extend my thanks and gratitude for your support and assistance in the #football in Africa and beyond. "After reflexion and consultation process, I decided to stand for re-election," he wrote. Many football stakeholders across the continent have also signified their intention to run for the office but none of them has made it official. The President, Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick was quoted to have interested in contesting for the CAF presidency. They all have till middle of November 2020, to officially announce the intention. The election is slated for March 2020.
