CAF Explains Women Champions League Format

Confederation of African Football (CAF) has explained the format of the inaugural edition of the African Women Champions League, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

President of the body, Ahmad Ahmad earlier in the year announced that the continent will also be following the footsteps of Uefa by organising champions league for the best women teams in the continent.

The body rose from its meeting today (Thursday) and announced the format and when it will be played.

According to CAF all six zones will organize qualifiers with the winners joining one team from the host country and a wild card. Two groups of four.

The event will be played annually and during the second half of the year.

Though, how each Association will determine it's representative is yet to be determined.
