CAF, FIFA Delegation To Inspect Moshood Abiola Stadium By Niyi Busari The African football governing body CAF and world football governing body, FIFA delegation will on Wednesday (today) inspect the Moshood Abiola Stadium Abuja. The team will inspect among others the dressing rooms, the room for Video Assistant Refereeing (VAR), media center and the pitch. The ministry of sports had on December 21 wrote the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to commence moves to have the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and FIFA inspectors approve the use of the newly refurbished Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja for big matches. The moves come a few days after Aron Nigeria Limited, which was contracted by the Dangote Group, handed over the rehabilitated stadium to Dare Sunday, the minister of youth and sports development. Two new digital scoreboards were handed over to the ministry by Aron Nigeria Limited. Gianni Infantino, FIFA president, and Patrice Motsepe, CAF president, had visited the Abuja stadium in October, with the pair expressing delights at the facility which gives hopes that the stadium will approved for international matches. The Super Eagles of Nigeria will play their yet to be known opponents for the Playoffs of African World Cup in March, 2022. Dangote had earmarked $1 million for the renovation of some part of the 60,000 capacity stadium in August 2020.
