CAF Governance Declares Ahmad Ahmad Eligible To Contest For Re-election

Ahmad Ahmad will be competing with the other candidates for the CAF elections next March. His candidacy is now declared eligible, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Candidate Ahmad is now declared eligible for re-election the post of CAF president by the CAF Governance Commission for the upcoming CAF elections in Rabat, Morocco.
In the meantime ineligible because of his five-year ban by FIFA, he appealed against FIFA's decision to the CAS, which has reinstated him in office since Friday, January 29. On January 31, he resumed his mandate as President of the CA.
Respectful of the procedures of the umbrella organization of African football, Ahmad Ahmad officially seized the Governance Committee of CAF last Monday regarding his candidacy for the election for the Presidency of the institution.
On Friday, after study, the Governance Commission of CAF, through an official note declared eligible his candidacy for the elections.
Ahmad will therefore be present while awaiting the entire CAS decision on March 2, 2020.
