CAF Named Kemi Popoola Fan of The Year In AWCON By Sunday Agunbiade Confederation of African Football, CAF on Saturday at the final of African women championship, AWCON held in Accra Ghana presented the best fan of the year 2018 award to the Secretary General of Nigeria Eagles Supporters Club, Kemi Ogunfuwa Popoola, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Kemi who was exceptionally brilliant throughout the competition with her unique costume and the creativity she brought into display by her passionate members to Spur Super Falcons to victory was all the attention needed by the department of CAF/ORANGE award organising assessors Called by the organizers out of crowd and thousand of supporters and fans that came to cheer both Super Falcons and Bayana Bayana to victory was enough pride for Nigeria and thus signals a hope for better years to come in Nigerian football Fielding questions from the media, Kemi who has been following National teams at all levels in the last 22 years without a single honour reacted thus: "I still felt like I was in a dream land until I find myself waking up to a reality holding an award in my hands and buzzed with inundated congratulatory messages from our members across the globe. I was picked out from thousands of supporters and fans alike with a prestigious award. This award no doubt is a divine arrangement to compensate my trying periods in this voyage" Elated Kemi did not stop there and and said "truly and surely when God is with you, nobody can be against you. With all sincerity, I have never won any award for supporting the national teams for 22yrs but my selfless service and vehement delivery of my team earned us this award and the Almighty God is worthy of our praise" Ever smiling Kemi therefore appreciates her ever supporting members for their exceptional display of brilliance that spurred Falcons to victory. Also, she said It would be a disservice if she fails to charge her members of Nigeria Eagles Supporters Club to continue supporting the national teams regardless of any challenges they face . She concluded that following their dreams and passion in life to overcome obstacles, and challenges is what will take them places As for me, I have learnt not to give up on what I truly and passionately love to do.
