CAF, NFF, Eulogise Stephen Keshi

The Confederation of African Football, CAF, and the Nigerian Football Federation have eulogized former Super captain and Coach, Stephen Keshi, who died four years ago.

Keshi was the longest serving captain of the Super Eagles and won the African Cup of Nations with the team as a coach in 2013, a feat that made him more popular. He also took Nigeria to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil where the team qualified to the round of 16, but lost 1-0 to France in an explosive round of 16 encounter.

CAF on its verified twitter handle wrote:

"Today we remember Captain Fantastic, Stephen Keshi, who left our world on this sad day 4 years ago 🕯️"

"In 2013 Keshi became the second person to win the #TotalAFCON title as player (1994) and coach, when he led @NGSuperEagles to their third trophy in South Africa."

The Big Boss, as he was fondly called died in 2016. NFF on their Twitter handle remembered the legendary manager, who also qualified Togo to their first ever World Cup

"Today we remember former Super Eagles captain and coach, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi. Big Boss we miss you, continue to rest in the Lord's bosom."
