CAF Picks Two Nigerian Clubs To Feature In FIFA Covid-19 Fund Raising Competition

Nigeria Professional Football League giants, Enyimba international and Enugu Rangers have been chosen to participate in the FIFA's Covid19 fund raising competition. FIFA plans to organise the competition in its different affiliated Confederations in order to raise funds.

Each Confederation will have 16 popular teams from the continent to play in the competition, according to local laws on ease of lockdown and safety measures.

Enyimba and Enugu Rangers were invited because of their popularity, as FIFA believes people will be more inclined to watch the popular clubs.

The invited clubs from Africa are:

TP Mazembe, Enyimba FC, Enugu Rangers, Kaizer Chiefs, Al Ahly, Hearts of Oak, Esperance, Orlando Pirates, Zesco United, KCC, Gor Mahia, El Merik, Wydad , AS Vita, Raja Casablanca and Zamalek

FIFA will reward clubs during an award to the champions, and the proceeds from this competition will be managed by FIFA. The award will be in Zurich

FIFA wishes to use the funds to ease the impact of the pandemic on football and its major actors.
