By Sampson Adedeji
Following the suspension of the President of Confederation of African Football ( CAF) Ahmad Ahmad, the body had decided to extend the interim tenure of the first Vice president, Constant Omari, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The adjudicatory chamber of the independent FIFA Ethics Committee declared Mr. Ahmad Ahmad, President of the African Football Confederation (CAF), and Vice-President of FIFA, responsible for having acted in violation of the Code of FIFA ethics.
Consequently, the adjudicatory chamber ordered a ban on all football-related activity (administrative, sports and other) at the national and international levels for a period of five years.
The DR Congo soccer supremo has been in charge temporarily in the last one week following the ill health of Ahmad Ahmad.
In application of its statutes, CAF on Monday afternoon announces that the current interim of Mr. Constant Selemani Omari as President of CAF has in fact been extended.
