CAF Supports Biennial World Cup Proposal By Sampson Adedeji World soccer governing body (FIFA) idea of having World Cup in every two years received a strong supports from Africa on Friday, BSNSports.com.ng can reports. The world football governing body through its president, Gianni Infantino has proposed having World Cup in every two years in order to make it more competitive and attractive. Confederation of African Football (CAF) rose from its executive meeting which was held in Sale, Morocco on Friday and supported the proppsal. Since the inception of the the biggest football showpiece, it has been held as 4 years event with European and South America countries dominating the competition. European countries has emerged the winner of the past 4 edition with France emerging the winner of last edition in Russia. No African country has moved beyond the quarter-finals of the competition.
